When I read through this list, I thought, “Damn, this is easy.” But I read it again, and I realized that easy or not, I am guilty of doing some of these things every day. How do I/you stop then? How do we change our thought processes through time, so that we are positive and forgiving about our own behavior?
I have found that the best way to make changes like this is to work on one or two things at a time, rather than to overwhelm myself with a lot of goals that I won’t be able to keep up with. So you could read through the list and pick out the goals that speak out to you. Make an intentional choice to focus on that goal. Keep a chart in your head or on your phone. Congratulate yourself – making changes isn’t easy. Remember, it takes time – give yourself the time.
